My advice would be to hop onto Truckpaper.com and search for "conventional truck w/ sleeper, and then narrow search to single drive axle. They are out there, just few and far between. It seems like the nicer ones are usually west coast, due to the fact that they still pull a lot of doubles. You might check with Charter Sales in California, they had some nice single axle petes with 36" sleepers last time I looked. Hope this helps.

??????????????????????????, You "LOCK" the TWO DRIVE wheels TOGETHER, a LOCKED REAR, NOT an "interlocked tandem"
Believe it or not but, I would put on of my old T2000 factory S/A with air locker rear and ATC up against most any tandem truck out there (without lockers) as far as getting around in heavy snow or mud (as long as there is a bottom).bender Thanks this. -
Dont know where your at, but im in texas and Just went up to Dearborn Michingan to buy a single axle 95 Volvo adn a 6 car hauler trailer combo deal off Ebay. I was looking at some used trucks around here in Amarillo and Dallas that were Old Dominion line haul trucks used to pull pups. They were mostly 2006 Freightliners SA with C15 Cat 10spd..but a lot of miles...like 800k or more, but priced at $15000. Look around and you will find some.

I'd just find a used Pete 379 spec'd how ya want it, with air trac, pull the susp and diffs out, go to a junkyard and get ya a single axle air trac susp and axle and put it in the front holes from your previous suspension and lob the back off with a torch and there ya go. Not sure if a guy could use the rear diff and rear 1/2 of a tandem air trac setup or not, if you could it'd save ya a ton of money.
