MOST radios built for 10 meters have SSB ....... EXPORT SETS really are not 10 meter radios only illegal CB sets SOLD as 10 meter radios.

Now ALINCO makes a 10 meter FM ONLY radio I have 2 of them and they are very nice IF your a FM user like myself.

    http://www.universal-radio.com/catalog/fm_txvrs/2607.html

SSB is 99% of the stations between 28.300 - 29.000 Mhz and AM is found from 29.010 - 29.200 IN SMALL NUMBERS.... So any radio that runs AM/FM and is not built for Am on 29 Mhz and FM on 29.600 with offset and tones is NOT a useable radio.

    10 Meters (28-29.7 MHz):

    28.000-28.070CW
    28.070-28.150RTTY
    28.150-28.190CW
    28.200-28.300Beacons
    28.300-29.300Phone
    28.680SSTV
    29.000-29.200AM
    29.300-29.510Satellite Downlinks
    29.520-29.590Repeater Inputs
    29.600FM Simplex
    29.610-29.700Repeater Outputs

I hope this will be of help to some who are just getting into ham radio as to what to look for on 10 meters
