I have a lil $ tied up and wanna use it...Now seeing im not getting positive result(yet) i wanna see from my set up in my crap SIRIO_MAG145_PL_1.jpg cadia,i been thinkin on a set up for my pick up...
Saw the siro mag mount....With the mount i have seen pics of,im not sure how to attach an ant to what seems to be a pl259 end on the siro....
I have a cpl fire sticks and a cpl cheap ext coiled k40's and my duel coil 10k ant would rather use one of them than have to buy another ant...So am i correct in assumeing there is some sorta adapter to run a ant of choice on the mag mount...
For those of you that are gonna tell me to drill through the roof, dont waste your time..

eff dat ma friend..No holes in my truck..If i decide to burn the involved money into a radio for my truck ill use the mag mount on the roof for the moment but i know a fella who can make me a roll bar type deal for my pick up and ill just have him make a plate on it to extent out over the roof a lil so it dont mess up the paint on the roof..

Doubt ill make much if any head way with the big truck by useing the 7 ft skip shooters so no sence in gettin a big amp..I do have to admit that the lil stryker 447hp2c is a seaxy powerful lil beast with some good options...Just gotta figure out the freq of the a/b/c/d/e/f bands...Thought about another 955 or 655 but thats a bit much for my needs in the pick up..
If i wanted to i could switchem out if i travel in the pick up and wanted side band..

They do make adapters, The antenna farm would be one source. If you do ebay you likely would find them there as well.

Diamond D38-24 or Comet AD35 M either would allow you to use a 3/8-24 mobile antenna with the mag mount you have pictured in your first post. If you wish to use 3/8-24 antennas exclusively order a mag mount set up for HF antennas from the start.

Just remember when you make the roll bar and you attach your antenna to it you kill 99% of the performance of the antenna the further you remove that antenna from the sheet metal of the roof.
