Don't think they make one where you can just buy of the shelf and just install. You can always get one made if you willing to spend a few bucks.

I don't like this shifter either. International put two big bends in the stick to lengthen it, no idea why, but it makes the reach for the forward right gear so far I have to lean forward to make that shift. How much of a PITA is it to change the stick? Can I just go to the local boneyard (all Freightliners) and get a shorter, straighter stick? Will it be interchangeable since they're both E-F trannies?

Think it just two bolts and nuts holding the stick into the gear selector in the trans. Take the rubber cover off to take a look down their. Might wanna double check bolt hole sizes and patter. Dunno if their interchangeable.
Just remember the order you took the gear selector apart and don't loose any springs or bearings in their or your splitter won't work. Don't need to take that apart until you know the sticks are interchangeable.Injun Thanks this. -
I've heard that the straight shifters can have an extension put on. You use the same knob, but you just put a shaft adapter on with slightly longer air lines or you replace it altogether, while using the same shift knob... I'll try searching for it. If I can find a slightly longer stick, I'd like to get one. If not, no worries. Just a thought.
I'm glad there are so many people saying things in here.
I don't like the International stick, either. I drove a 10 speed and I had to shift my body slightly to the right to grab those gears, too... it just doesn't feel natural with those two huge bends in it! The dash cluster is cool, though!Injun Thanks this. -
This style was cool back in the day.

I also drive a prostar(not by choice) I dont care for the stick either it should be bent a little to the left...our mechanic said it would not be an issue to heat it a little with a torch and put a slight bend in it.( just make sure your air lines are on the outside ( not running throught the center of the stick)also you will want to unhook airlines and lay on the floor before heating, to remove airlines take 2 torx bolts out of bottom cover and that will expose airline fittings.....Injun Thanks this.

I don't want to heat this one and straighten it or bend it or whatever. I want to remove it and put a shorter one in. No reason for the shift pattern to be that big.
-
got my first auto shift in an 05 fliner columbia I pissed and moaned about not having a shifter..now I have a prostar with a 13 speed ...kinda miss my old autoshift now...

You need that bottom bend so the stick won't hit the cupholder.... You could start with a straight stick, and have some custom bends made. That woul be a cool mod!
That reach for 3rd/7th gear is annoying for sure.Injun Thanks this.
