I kick it into neutral at a light. Its easier on the clutch.
Learn to watch all directions of the lights, not just the one in front of you. When the other directions of traffic get a yellow light drop it into gear and you can react just as fast as the guy who was sitting there with the truck in gear and foot on the clutch.

Yeah, you're always supposed to have it in gear. You're always supposed to have two hands on the wheel unless you're shifting too, how many people actually do that? -
Ask for a auto

Sometimes I leave it in gear, sometimes I don't.. and if I don't then I put it in gear when I think the light is about to turn green. The whole "out of control" truck that isn't moving is silly. Even if an emergency arose, I can put it in gear in half a sec..
If you're green, or getting your cdl.. and maybe at driving tests for certain companies: I guess leave it in gear. After that, just drive. -
yes "suppose" to be in gear, but i don't just more wear and tear on things
DrtyDiesel Thanks this. -
In orientation we had to leave it in gear. In my honest opinion if you're sitting still and in neutral, you are not out of control unless you're clinically insane or something and want to roll back into someone.
I leave it in neutral, my trainer had me keep it in gear for the first two days then the other 12 days I would just put it in neutral.
