Actually, I'm wonder the same thing about this situation:

Many companies now dictate routes that driver has to take... or on some cases route drivers around toll roads/bridges etc... but still pay the 'skimmed' miles if the driver was still allowed to take that route.

Seems to me they night have a case, in a situation like this...
