500 it was my mistake Allen said they take 600 a week which includes trailer rent ,but he did at the time say they wanted 500 down to get a fuel card. I did not mean to get you all worked up. I believe leasing to skyview with your own tractor would be about as close as it gets to being on your own and today most people can not make it on thier own in my opinion. Skyview has been around a long time and I am sure they have had more drivers rip them off than we will ever know. I wanted to give it a try but I do not want to run very hard,If I can get a 100 thousand to me in a year I am the happiest man on earth and can live like a king other fellas could not get by on a hundred thousand.. With that being said lets be friends and let these guys go for it ok?..

sounds good to me.didn't mean to get so worked up.but the skyview people have been nothing but good to me.btw.the "sweet hopper truck & trailer" pictured in the earlier post by 58 sky lane belongs to me.you don't have things like that by hauling cheap freight or working for dishonest people.thanx.

My brother in law just started driving for skyview a few weeks ago and has been on the road every day. As of today they say that he is $600 in debt to them. I'm not a trucker and he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer but we think that something smells like seafood here. Can you guys shed a little more light on this company?

like i've said before i've been with skyview for 3 1/2 yrs. and do very well.i think he needs to give it time to get some of the initial start up deductions out of the way. i promise that he will never work for a better group of people.i wonder if he is getting his paperwork sent in on time.he should send it everytime he delivers, not once a week.that seems to be one of the biggest problems with guys i talk to.they hold on to their paperwork and do it once a week then send it in at the last minute. if it doesnt get there in time they are out of luck.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. The boy is pretty down now but I'm going to talk to him about record keeping and general paperwork. I'll also stress your point of sending in the trip reports. How does he do that when on the road. Does he need to get a laptop so that he can email stuff? Like I say this is a new field for me so we both are learning but I think that I am the quicker learner and just trying to help him get started.

Gunner companies have policies. Say for instance if your brother has had an incident where maybe he turned a corner to short and got the trailer off in the ditch and had to have a wrecker pull him out.Usually the company will charge the driver and hold it out of his check. Also if he parked in a no parking area, maybe the company paid the ticket for him and they are holding it out of his check.I don't know the case but this is what it sounds like.

I have appreciated the help and advice that I have gotten in the short period of time that I have been a member.
I'm sorry to say that my brother-in-law's problems real or not are no longer a problem for him to worry aboout.
Bobby passed away today of a sudden unexpected heart attack.
Again I thank you for your concern and desire to help.
