I am a firm believer that Walmart is trucking.
It is just trucking done slightly more right.
Many company's have fleets, they are some of the better jobs in trucking.
Walmart just went a little farther with it.
When Sam was around he believed that drivers should be paid for all time away from home. So they are. And still are.
They also have really good home time. Many of them are out 5 days and then home 3 or 4 days.
They have several schedules you can use.
They are a good company on the driver end. And remember Walmart pinches penny's more than many company's. Paying there drivers as they do saves them money in the long run. No need to train new driver often. The drivers are happy and get the job done.
Plus most of there drivers are making well over 70k a year with allot of home time.

They won't give you #'s because they sign an agreement when they get hired to not disclose pay information. The only way you'll ever get one to tell you is if you know one personally. I happen too know one and he won't tell much but they do make extremely good money and get paid for absolutely everything. They also are the strictest company around. Zero tolerance for anything and minimum 500k miles accident free to even get an interview.

A WM driver told me he was making about .50cpm. I am a WM dedicated driver working for Covenant.... Actually I work for WM but I'm paid by Covenant....:biggrin_25510: Have been getting loads straight from WM dispatch office this week. Haven't even heard from my Covenant dispatcher and load planner... WM needs a lot of support from us (dedicated drivers) and has been using OTR drivers more often now (I guess they can save more money this way). I have been working my rear end off this week, using all my hrs but get only .28 cpm (from Covenant) and no extras for anything (no layover, no pay for break time, no pay for extra p/ups and drop n hooks...) At least I am learning how to work with WM... Yes, they treat you right and they give you tons of work, never ending work. :biggrin_25521:
