pay $900 dollars for a CPAP machine? At first I was on the fence, but a $900 dollar machine is clearly a scam. Does that machine figure up your taxes and makes breakfast too?

This is why i miss the Gordon trucking of old.
When i was diagnosed with sleep apnea gordon paid 100% for my cpap and it was the best one available. They paid for all of my supplies the whole time i was with them. Every 3 months i would get a box full of stuff. I still have supplies i havent used yet and i got to keep my machine when i left after the heartland buyout.
i dont understand companies who do not care about their drivers or their comfort while living in their trucks on the road.
but even more i dont understand drivers who agree to work for these people. There are far better companies out there. Ifeveryone would refuse to work for these people they would be forced to change.FatDaddy Thanks this. -
All drivers see is the dollars being waved in their face and not the dollars being taken out of their back pocket.

The ones my company require have cell phone access built in to monitor you every night. You must use it at least 4 hours a night, 6 nights a week(even at home) and it will send in daily reports that you are using it. It can even tell where you are with gps. Even can tell if some one else is using it....dont give it to the wife of the dog to cover for youFailure to use it properly, not using it, placing it on the ac vent or family pet...will put you in an off duty status for a week to get back on schedule...without pay of course
All hail the great god, CPAP

I was diagnosed with an AHI of 107. That's not a misprint. Anybody that tells me sleep apnea is a scam I just laugh at. After copays and such I ended up paying in the neighborhood of $500 for the sleep study, machine and supplies....so doing the math without insurance it would have cost be about $2500.
I don't like the fact that companies out there seem to profit off this very real condition.Wild Murphy, TruckDuo and Chewey Thank this. -
Brain surgeons profit from brain tumors...obgyn profit from pregnancy
Why is it wrong if doctors and medical supply facilities profit from this... -

You guys saying everyone is diagnosed and therefore should have a machine are blind... These "doctors" are held to no standards. They can print out whatever they like, tell you what it's supposed to mean, and that info can be from any time in the night. My sleep study was less than 2 hours before they put the mask on. 2 hours of the whole night! Now I'm stuck with this thing when maybe I just had a rough hour. I didn't even talk to a doctor. I had a nurse that barely knew how to hook me up, then 2 days later I had a video chat with a "doctor" who gave me a small presentation on CPAP that may as well have been a video. Why would I believe anything these people told me? But now I'm stuck with the machine until I can find the time, money and right doctor to have myself tested. Biggest mistake ever not quitting on the spot.
If these machines are so great for people that need them, why do they have to practically hold a gun to our heads to have us wear them..? I've had mine for over 2 months now. I don't feel a bit different, other than that sometimes I stay awake angry unable to get comfortable...double yellow, SlowPoke44magnum, Chewey and 3 others Thank this.
