I was a stomach sleeper too...easier to breath that way. NEVER could sleep on my back. Now, I could never sleep any other way, except on my side. It took me about an hour to get used to the mask. I had no clue I was waking up, yet I saw video oif me sleeping and saw the data and I woke up over 40 times per hour. Stop breathing and wake up and go right back to "sleep", never even consciously knowing you were awake.
I saw myself sleeping on my back and couldn't believe it. I know for a fact that I tossed and turned at night, but there are times now that I wake up and my hip hurts because I haven't moved in 10 hours. When I say I can't sleep without the machine on me, I mean it. I can't. Ive tried. It really is just another part of my life now, just like eating is.
I hope you DONT have sleep apnea, but if you DO, please dont fight the treatment. I hear a LOT of guys say that they won't wear it, can't wear it, hate it, can't sleep with it...because they dont give it a chance and they fight it from the get go. If they just succumbed to the treatment, they would find their quality of life would be SO much better!
Some things it has done for me...my blood pressure is normal now, my diabetes is easier to control, no headaches except for stress headaches at times. I dont get sleepy while I drive, I am more attentive, I am less aggressive, I am less irritable. Id say it was a life changer. -
I hope I don't have it either. I don't think I do. From all I have read and from my wife's observations, I just don't have any of the symptoms. I am sure my body type will raise some red flags though. IF I do have it, I will wear the mask. I'm not above it. I have a quick question though. I am going onto the Wal-Mart dedicated route, i.e. slip-seat. How does slip seating work with a CPAP machine?

pack it up and take it home. thing is fairly small. I use a little humidifier with mine. it about 6"x12"x4"? air alone is 6"x6"x4". You can google it to see what I'm talking about.

Mickey is right. You have to wear it at home as well as on the truck. On the truck, it plugs into the cigarette lighter in the bunk area. At home, you have a wall plug.

well I use an invverter in the truck. My machine IS capable of using a 12v plug though. cost like 20. qfor now I'll just stick with the inverter.
You know, coming in with my own machine I would have thought they would want to see my usage? Haven heard a peep from them about it. Not worried or anything. I average 7 hrs a night. -
You will. They never said anything to me, either. That is until the 31st day when the lady called and told me it was time to do an upload. She will call you too.
BigJohn5665 Thanks this. -

thanks ra! how long did it take you to stop nodding during the day and how long do you avg sleeping in a night just curios started my cpap about 2 weeks ago and it works.
-
I got my machine while at the hotel at Prime. Slept two nights with it at the hotel and got a load. Haven't nodded since. I sleep between 6 and 10 hours per night, depending on how tired I am when I go to sleep. Usually go to sleep around 7-8 and am up at 3 and driving by 4.
