I have recently been diagnosed with "mild" sleep apnea. I went to my family doctor to get the ball rolling when I finished with driving school March 9th. Since then I had 2 sleep studies, the first just me wired up to the monitors and the 2nd with a cpap (full face mask...).
I have prehires from Prime & Roehl but neither will schedule orientation till I've used the cpap I'm gonna get for 30 days. I'm hoping that Schneider will let me come to orientation without the 30 day wait. I also have a 1 year card due mainly to treated high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes.

only way to know is to explain to your recruiter and see what they say.

She called a few minutes ago and we are set to talk tomorrow afternoon. She said she'd schedule me for drug screen/physical then with orientation possible in 2 weeks.

Medical examiner wanted 7 days of compliance on my CPAP. I did the 7 days 100% and the medical examiner signed me off for a year. I'm scheduled for orientation in Atlanta for April 17th. During this time Schneider CPAP people will periodically check to make sure I'm in compliance.
All in all I'm very happy about the way things are going and I'm very excited about this opportunity with Schneider National. -
real simple. you dload the info in a zipfile and send that on to PPD ( the company sni works with) . They will review and make sure the settings are working for you.
I quit smoking not long after being diagnosed and gained weight as a result. The initial settings of my machine werent working for me any more. A woman there ( at PPD)went out of her way to walk me through adjusting the settings on my machine. I just recieved a package of supplies to get me through the next 6 months. New mask, 3 extra mask inserts. new tubing, new water resivour. 3 new filters and a 12v power cord. no cost to me. -
I agree it is very simple and I appreciate how Schneider seems to have set up a system that appears to be very driver friendly (from what I see...) compared to other carriers I have talked to.
The only other efforts regarding my cpap usage is to get my Pulmonary doctors the card in 30 days so they can confirm my compliance to my current insurance company.
I have been losing a great deal of weight over the last year and a half and my personal doctor tells me that if I loose another 40 lbs I may no longer need BP, Diabetes, and CPAP therapy prescriptions. What a great goal to have but man it has gotten tougher to loose it after the 1st 50+ pounds lost.
Of course any input on diet and exercise is greatly appreciated from the experienced drivers out there. -
SNI's sleep apnea program is great. I'm ever-appreciative of what they did for me in this regard during my time there.
Truly one aspect of SNI that will get nothing but thumbs-up from me.
Good luck to you, BigJohn! -
I don't have sleep apnea that I know of. But I do sleep walk..... Or sleep curse...... Or sleep jump.

I don't know why but occasionally while sleeping, I jump out of bed, or randomly start sprinting, or sit up and say stuff such as "what the f", "mother f'er" "god #### it". Yep, I'm weird and I know it...
I once even got up one night, opened my window, ripped open the screen, and jumped. 6 foot drop, cleared a flower bed and landed bare foot on gravel. Didn't even get hurt. Realized how stupid that was and went to bed....
WTF is wrong with me?
BigJohn5665 Thanks this. -
Lol, I even did it one night in orientation. Room mate was on his laptop while I was sleeping. All of a sudden I leaped to the foot of my bed, and stood there for a second crouched down with my fists pumped. He said it looked like I was about to kick some ###. He asked what was up and all I said was "I'm sorry dude, I'm like half asleep and have no idea, I'm going back to bed."
BigJohn5665 Thanks this. -
Oragonads - that's freaky! Honestly though, you should find out how to stop doing such things before you hurt yourself.
