if you sleep on your stomach like i do, try using the Swift FX nasal pillow. it is a small mask that will let you sleep on your stomach, I have been using it for 2 years now. Never had issues with it.

As far as diet it's really tough but i've found that eating at petro's and only doing the salad bar instead of the buffet works well. Stop any and all soda or juice except for orange juice in the am. I also do slanted pushups at the fuel island by standing at front of tractor at 45 degree angle and lean on headlight area and put my hands together and do as many as i can until it burns. I also walk around the truck as many times as possible while fueling. in the evening walk then walk more. do sit ups in bunk before sleeping and in am when you wake up. it's very tough but a little discipline and you can do it. also utilize the sni gyms.Last edited: Aug 12, 2012

After 1 year of employment with sni the machine is yours if u leave sni before that year is up you end up having to come out of the pocket for a pro rated amount of the cost of the machine

stevep1977 Thanks this. -
I have heard that some companies make you do a sleep study as part of the DOT physical. If I had a sleep study done with the Army, been diagnosed with mild sleep apnea and have already have a Cpap, would I have to do this again? Does Scheider even do this? I have heard of swift doing it but I cant find any info on Schneider. Thanks

Just make sure when u answer the sni questionnaire check mark that u don't snore its different options something like a never, sometimes,a lot. I out sometimes and bam sent me to the sleep apnea study place and then they said because my breathing slowed down under the "normal" amount 91 or something like that and thats when they decided I had sleep apnea

tell them you have it. You will only need to show compliance. A new study shouldnt be needed. Does your machine have a SD card?
If I recall correctly the place SNI sent me to for my preemployment physical wanted a form from my Doc stating the therapy was working and that it wouldnt affect my driving.
If your machine doesnt have the card, they will issue a loaner machine to check your compliance and once insurance kicks in you'd get a new machine with the card. Supplies are free to the driver too. -
Also if you have sleep apnea your idle allowance gets bumped up and they put in a sine wave inverter. as long as you have sni insurance it costs you nothing for machine or supplies.
-
Their is a charge for the inverter but you get to keep it when you leave as well as the cpap and supplies
Ocho360 Thanks this. -
Luckily my cpap came with a. 12v plug in inverter that goes directly into the machine
