Well, i wasn't in compliance. 30 day of record showed 50% compliance. Apparently when getting used to it in the beginning, I didn't wear it long enough. Pissed me off. Just got the Roehl offer today just before I went to Apnea Dr. Then he sent report to DOT Dr. Hell, by the time I got home, Dot Dr. left message and said: nope. Gotta call Roehl and postpone for another week. I'm gonna wear it all day tomorrow and everyday and go to bed early for the next week. DOT Dr. said to come back in a week. Tired of this, I'm doing what I can, Im still unemployed and now 2 grand in debt over this and 3 month Med card expires 8/8/13.

This is interesting. However, I have one thing to add. If I had not been treated in 2004 I would most likely have died by now....
HUmm
Scam? -
This whole thing of the DOT wanting to require us to go through sleep studies, surgeries, etc, shows just how inept the FMCSA is at listening to those of us out here doing the work, instead of solely relying on "scientific data". How about those that park next to us with his or her truck making all kinds of noise? (Air dryer malfunction, tv/stereo turned up so loud it makes a Metallica concert sound like an easy listening station), idiots who rip off the hoods of other trucks and flee, other idiots who like to test out his new train horn at 2am, DOT cops who think its ok the wake a driver up for a dot inspection so they can inflate their ticket quotas, etc?
Newbomb Turk Thanks this. -
Well, for me its getting better. DOT Dr. called last evening and stated a mistake was made and I was in compliance. heading over to Dot Dr. to pickup updated card. And hopefully a "release" letter that ROEHL requires. Hopefully the DOT Dr. won't have a problem with writing the release.
On the flip side of all this, I do think alot of the "Apnea" stuff is a scam. I don't think everyone has Apnea just because of being over weight. People who have had Tonsils out are way less likely to have it. And, as far as parts for the CPAP machine and its monthly upkeep, holy crap! $15 for these filters the size of a 9v battery and the rubber seal/gasket for the mask at $65. I know there are cheaper places on the internet but not much cheaper. Uses about 1 gal of distilled water a mo. for the humidifier. I've been busting my butt to loose weight to get out from under it. I started out about eight months ago at 370lbs, now I'm 290lbs. Still a fat bas-turd butt, I'll get down to 199lbs soon. I still needed to loose a whole person in weight, but I wish I could have had the "laser knife" procedure done. week or two of discomfort, but I would have been able to breath like it was out of a 8" pipe. They use the laser knife to cut out Tonsils, Uvula (the little thing in your throat hanging down), other loose tissue around the throat and lastly, roto-router the nasal passages. They say afterwords its unbelievable what it feels like to breath like that and its permanent and NO CPAP BS! Ever! Not too mention the weight loss after surgery. -
NOVASOM does now have the titration test. If found that you have sleep apnea it is then done(the titration test)
