Even if you aren't overweight, thick necked or have any other anatomical differences, i.e. you're normal, gravity and the mechanics of the human body will still contribute somewhat to your sleep quality on your back versus on your side. I guess to play devil's advocate somewhat, I can see the other point of view that thinks we need to test for the worst sleeping scenario possible to make sure we don't miss anything. I don't agree with that point of view in any way, but I realize it is there. I too sleep on my side, and I also know, I don't get the same rest if I wind up on my back. I agree, only testing on your back, does make it somewhat of a rigged test. Not to derail this thread or get too far off topic, I laugh when I think about the Big **** Theory episode where Bernadette states "Last month my company both invented and cured restless eye syndrome. Ka-ching, ya blinky chumps!" There might be more to big pharmacy and big government creating "conditions" to line their pockets than what a lot of people are willing to admit.

It is the "at risk fallacy" scenario that pervades modern thought that goes for the so we don't miss anything methodology. Much the same idea surrounding we have to slow every truck down because speed kills, we have to monitor every phone conversation in the country so we don't miss anything, etc. Pure Machiavellian philosophy. Create or expand a problem, real or imagined, then come up with a solution with no appreciable evidence it will solve the new problem. Expand it to include as many as possible within it's grasp, and therefore expand control over their lifestyle.

Wasn't sure how putting the full name would go over, or if it was even a problem. I erred on the side of caution.

It is a classic money grab. My brother in law works at epes, they required the "sleep study" which automatically means you need a cpap. Make no mistake this is a farce. The machine he has uploads his activity every day to a monitoring center which ensures that you must use the device, no fooling with it or termination. How did we ever survive all these years as a people. Lol. Every generation says they are glad to be getting out of their profession because it's going down the crapper, well, after 23 years, only being 44, I'm glad I'll be getting out of this before more comes along.

Mine does too. The technician told me she was able to get my compliance report while my machine was unplugged, later I found out how.
