Read Post #9 and get one that recalibrates automatically while you sleep.

But you will have to in order for them to find the setting.

Didn't anyone explain how this all works?

If not you have to be sleeping for them to find the threshold point where the pressure allows you to sleep, it isn't as easy as you think, you have to be sleeping. AND because you have to have them confirm you entered REM sleep, the machine can't self adjust like others think. Once they adjust it up and down a couple times to confirm it, then they stop the test (or let you sleep with the setting they think works) and then send it off to the docs who writes a script for that setting after he/she looks at it.

You are doing this to yourself. Getting all worked up and worried has been your issue right from the start. You talked yourself into not being able to sleep.

I had 3 sleep studies and slept a total of 2 hours on all 3 combined. So. I'm not going back again. Trucking or not, #### is ridiculous.

I do sleep, I cannot sleep in a foreign setting, hot as hell, with wires hanging out of me. Sorry, I just can't. If I can't drive a truck over that, so be it.

Sounds like UKwildcatfan has an attitude. Not just brought on by the "sleep study" procedure either---got an attitude in 'life'.
I just wanna say this: You are not "Entitled" to anything....and the industry is not "Obligated" to simply allow you to join.
Like it or not, there are requirements...one of them (for YOU), is to SUCCESSFULLY complete a sleep study. Apparently you haven't done that. Nobody cares what your reasons are.
Follow the rules, requirements, and procedures---or take your ball and go home.

If you don't have the patience for a simple procedure like sleeping:rolleyes:, you darn sure ain't got the patience for traffic, shippers/receivers, instructors, trainers, tight docks, or even the line at the fuel desk. You would be an unsafe, un-level headed, danger to everyone that has to share the road with you.

Pick a different profession. Not everyone is cut out for this one (that's why there are requirements).
