Ok so there is no point at sleeping at the shipper/receiver unless you can't find parking? Can someone explain to me then what the guy trucker brown was talking about then?
-
You had it in post 11. It can be an advantage, just not to the extent the guy suggests.
If you start your clock before going to the shipper and then spend half the day there you've lost the ability to drive as far that day. The time you spend there will be counted as off duty though. So it will hurt you that day but won't affect your 70. -
Well if we're being literal, then you literally have never driven more than 10:45. Okaaaay
-
Assuming you logged it as sleeper/off duty and not on duty as some people suggest.
-
There are other advantages to sleeping at the shipper/consignee.
I'm not a morning person and if I have an early appointment I might get there the night before so I can sleep later.
It can also be an advantage to get in at night when traffic is light vs. dealing with morning rush hour.
I'm sure there's many good reasons for it but you won't make an extra couple grand a month by doing it.Dominick253 and DsquareD Thank this. -
I'm still cornfused. I'm going to watch the video again and listen carefully to what he says.
-
Or if you get into an accident a knowledgeable lawyer can determine that you shouldn't have been on the road and then you're screwed.Dominick253 Thanks this.

Cutting it a little close, aren't you?
