Good point from Rocky64. Do you get any exercise? That helps a ton. Even just a half hour walk will help.

I'm 28 and I drive usually during the night until like 8 am, she drives during the day. Yeah it could be because its light outside so my body is telling me to wake up.

Id love to drive during the day but my wife just can't hack the whole staying up all night thing, no matter how much rest she gets during the day, she is passing out once it hits 11pm. I told her that its something u gotta get used to, but she seems pretty freaked out after hitting the vibrators on the shoulder a few times at 1 am.

I've been driving 7 yrs so I've figured out how to force myself to stay awake no matter what time it is, but I'm sure its taking a toll on my health.

I asked my wife what memory foam is and she told me its amazing. Don't know why she never told me about it. So we will pick some up whenever we go past walmart. As far as me having a 22 yr old wife, I'm not even 30 yet, so no biggie there.

I really do think its a subconcious thing though, she sleeps fine cuz she trusts me since I'm experienced. Do I trust her? Yeah but I worry, its a dangerous industry.

I think you have gotten some good advice here--I would really look at the light situation--I have always tended to drive at night--and most of my buddies love to tease me because I also typically give up just before sunrise--they say I have to close the coffin lid LOL--but I still find after all these years--if I am asleep in the dark--the light rarely wakes me up--but when I lay down in the daytime--my body just seems to think its a nap!
I do know a couple of older husband/wife teams who have done this a long time--and a couple of them still wear ear plugs and one of those dark eye masks when they sleep-I tried the eye mask thing--but don't like it--but who knows?

Well.... if it gets so bad that I feel like passing out I usually just pull over and nap for about an hour or two. I'm not totally retarded

Many a time I slept in the back of a moving ambulance..

Trust is the only way one can do that.. if you don't trust the driver you're going to stress about every bump, brake, turn, shift and noise they make.. all the memory foam in the world isn't going to help..

It's funny but my son just got some home time and couldn't sleep,he said he was so used to sleeping while his partner was driving, that he had to get used to sleeping in a non moving bed.The same w/ driving a car,it took awhile to get used to it after months of driving the peterbuilt.
What I would try is 5mg Melatonin, available over the counter.Your body produces it naturally, and sometimes if I can't sleep,it's enough to push me over the edge into dream land.

I would love to drive with a brand new 22 yr. old wife, but I don't know what my 58 y/o wife would think. . .I'd prolly die.
