It will Definetely "take some getting used to".(I never did get used to it). Some places have "mooches" hanging around, going door to door selling"fake jewelry",knocking on doors, with "hard luck stories at 2am".Prostitutesetc.Some tips: Try your best not to Park next to a Reefer trailer, cycling on and off all night, get some privacy "heat shiels for windows,so(its difficult to tell if youre in there or not?).Dont Answer your door.Truckers have answered doors and been robbed, stabbed etc.I remember in Mississippi years ago a Sweaty crazy guy, banging on my sleeper.Said, hed been sprayed with pepper spray, wanting to use my phone.Yes,he had been sprayed by A Security guard. Here comes the Security guard and now the Police. He pulled a knife on the Security guard(thats why he got sprayed.Cops, stun gunned him and stuffed him in a cruiser. So,keep some "street smarts" about you. Some nights you sleep like a rock,..other times not.

My truck has front windshield curtains. So you have the whole truck as a room. Not all truck have that option, but all trucks have the curtains between sleeper and front.

I never had any trouble with people waking me up. All that stuff was back in the 90s. If your looking for ladies of the night you can still find them but they are not out walking the parking lot knocking on doors like the use to.

Most truck have bunk heaters today so you don't need a sleeping bag unless you want one. They are nice to have if your training but after that you don't need one. When it gets 10F or less most just idle trucks all night anyway because you don't want the diesel to gel.
