get you a ratchet strap and tie it to both door handles and ratchet it tight. it will keep someone from pickin your lock and getting in but the bottom line is if they want in they are gonna get in! just watch where you sleep. you will get a feel or ask around about where you are going to try and sleep and see what other drivers say!

 

Get one or two tie down straps to hook your door handles together. Also buy one of those boat horns in a can, compressed air horn in can used on boats, starting races and such. If you have an intruder and blast that at them I bet you will not need a gun! I believe you can also get the barking dog alarm that attaches to a house door and it would probably work somehow. I think it would be great if there was a way to shock somebody as soon as they touch your door!
Don't know how though.

 

This might be a bad idea if the person touching your door happens to be a cop or someone trying to tell you your trailer's on fire!

...are a very good idea and will not get you in trouble on concealed weapons issues.

Most crooks will only continue to carry out their crime so long as feel in control of the situation. The absolute shock of an air horn, particularly in the silence that most crooks crave, takes away the sense of control they feel. Don't misunderstand, you may well end up needing that baseball bat or handgun, but the "shock-gun" air horn is pretty effective.

Sounds like you got a major dose of paranoia going on.

If you are that concerned about someone breaking into your truck with you in it then you can go to your local Walmart and purchase some ratchet straps. Loop them through the door handles on each side then hook the s hooks together. Then use the ratchet to tighten the straps.

You could buy a count down timer such as a "Screamin Meanie" at most truckstops which is pretty loud but usually used for waking drivers up kinda like an alarm clock for heavy sleepers. I beleive there are some personal protection devices such as stun guns and tazers as well as handheld panic alarms that are available on the internet.

As for your trailer get a padlock. For your fuel tanks you can purchase lock caps or ask your company about diesel traps which are metal strainers designed to let fuel into the tank but prevent a siphon hose from removing fuel from the tank.

Also be sure you have a cell phone. At least you can call for help (provided there is a signal) if needed. Lots of companies have on board computers with satellite tracking and a panic button on the computer if you have an accident or need immediate help. If you do not respond to the dispatcher after activating the panic/emergency button they contact the police department in the area and request immediate assistance for you.
