$200 to do what 5 cents worth of chalk and good sense will get ya.
It's really not that hard, man.

I love that "extended protection plan", on a couple of end-stops for a tandem slider??? wow, what a con-job THAT place is!
But, really, $200 for a pipe that fits in your slider holes? A fool and his money are soon parted.....

lol. Bro a protection plan for something like that is well worth it. The last thing I bought from Walmart literally snapped right in half lol. It’s metal against metal. So if it snaps then I’m good they send me another one. So what are you wowing about.

Seriously, what I used to do was take a tape measure, and measure out how far I wanted to move it. Then, I had a mark on my step just outside the door I used for this; laid down the tape measure in line with the mark, and kept the tape extended to the distance I just measured. With the trailer wheels locked, I moved the cab to exactly that distance, and voila!, the pin was EXACTLY where I needed it! This ain't rocket science, people. You can waste $200 on some awkward-sized metal rod you'll need to stow away 99% of the time, or just plain USE YOUR BRAIN and keep your hard-earned cash. Sheesh....

rockeee, Numb and Opus Thank this.

So, my first winter of driving into the outback parts of the province of Quebec, one of the camioneurs who spoke passable English showed me some of the tricks of surviving heavy Canadian winters. One of his tricks was to keep a heavy-duty refillable squirt bottle (like the kind you'll find in the garden section of Lowe's) filled with diesel fuel. You could spray it on the slider rails, which would make your tandems slide easily. Also, I'd spray my 5th wheel with it to keep the thick grease they always over-applied thin enough so that it didn't solidify in the cold. But the squirter of diesel work in ANY temperature to free-up sticky tandems.

    Numb Thanks this.
