I posted that picture for a visual of what I was describing. I don't know if they really cost that much. Mine always came with the new trailer.
    Your pricing may be different.

You're not saving any time or effort trying to use this "tool".

First off, it's another thing to clutter up your sidebox. By the time you get it out, install it, slide, unistall it, and put it away you could have taken 3 walks to the back. How do I know this? Because I had a washout from another company come through my truck and he insisted on using the dang thing.

Secondly, the more you play around with things, the better feel for your equipment you get. When you initially set your tandems it's a guess, so one hole either way isn't going to make a difference. Then its usually only a couple inches either way to get balanced.

Finally, if you really want to use a contraption, go buy 6 inches of thickish chain and a small foam block. Wrap the chain in foam, same thing, 5 bucks.

Don't know if it's already stated but on a reefer it's 450-500 per hole also I like the using the driver's step method as far how much to move. Look at the distance between the holes.. then as you are moving your truck to slide look down to your driver's step to gauge to see how far you need to go Works just about every time for me

I thought I needed one of those stoppers when I first started too. I never did get one, but after a little bit of experience, I got to where I can get it pretty much spot on where I want it on the first try using a similar method to what others have described. I'd now recommend a new driver just get used to doing it without it. You'll figure out a method that works for you pretty soon and you'll be able to do it faster than with the stopper.

using the stopper wouldn’t take any longer then your method. Still have to get out and press the button regardless so

Messing with getting the stopper in and out would definitely take longer. Plus the time to retrieve and store it. Maybe not a lot of extra time, but you'll be better off in the long run if you get used to doing it without any extra tools.

You literally just stick it in the whole and pull it out lol. And I’d store it right in the compartment outside my truck that I have to walk past every time anyways
