With grain wagons we load off of our air gauges all the time. Its really more accurate than you would think. Gauge is plumbed to air bags on truck and one more to trailer bags.

The trick is, buy a pet monkey and train him. I have one and he's great. I never get off the truck.

It depends on the state. 12000 is max in KS. Best to look in front of your map book to make sure. Also even the 20k states (most states) you can't go over the axel (often 12k) or tire (often about 12.4k) weight limits.

That was basically how I use to teach it. I would use rocks or even spit to mark the spot on the ground the line it up with my step. Hopefully the OP understood what you were trying to teach him.

Yea, I don't know if I explained it well... But it's an easy trick that works. Maybe you can explain it better? Lol

20,000 is the Federal Maximum. Get a copy of the Rand McNally Truckers Road Atlas. The state limits on the steering axle can be found there. In fact just about any question you might have about weights and bridge law can be found in that book! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ALL truckers GET A CURRENT COPY!!!!
