1) Get your anger issues under control.
2) Get a driver's license in the state where you reside with the PROPER and CORRECT address.
3) Make sure you have completed the terms of your felony conviction (like it or not, you are a convicted felon, many will just see you as a convict, period). Did you serve your time? Did you pay court costs? Did you pay restitution? Are you on probation or parole?
4) Check with the state employment/unemployment office about job training assistance. They're not going to teach you how to launch rockets into space, but they can provide funds to get you at least a semi-skilled job. They would rather spend $1K on job training for a while than spend $45+K to see you back in prison.
5) Apply for jobs at warehouses. You will get a good idea of what drivers have to deal with on an almost daily basis on the dock. And that leads bact to #4, get forklift certified. Some/most places don't care, or do it on their own. But if you have a piece of paper that says you know what you're doing, it's better than nothing.
6) Save for and pay for a DoT medical card (always keep the long form) and a CLP for the state you live in. Tell your boss, you have the CLP and you would like the opportunity to shuttle trailers around the yard, even if it's under supervision, to gain backing experience.
7) Keep your #### clean for the next 3 years or so. Not many will touch you even if you have a CDL and some verifiable experience, and you do not have that.
Sorry for being a little bit brutaly honest, but there are avenues for you to take if you want to drive. You just have to commit to #1 first.....Last edited: Aug 23, 2019

Youre probably going to invest a huge amount of time and energy into trucking, find out it sucks, burn out and get fired when someone pushes you too far. Trucking will make a preacher cuss someone out.

Angry people and semi trucks usually ends poorly, long term incarceration is definitely a strong possibility, you may want to find something else to do.
