Is anyone else slow? Our DC of 200 drivers has been dead in the water for the last month. As things slowed down this year our gtm kept hiring drivers. Now most of us are lucky to get 1500 miles a week. We'll leave with a short load and then come back and sit until the next morning if we're lucky or have to wait until 8-9pm at night.

Sure isn't what I signed on for and would like to caution some of you leaving decent jobs you've been at for many years before coming to this place because Walmart seems to have some people in command now that don't care if their drivers starve and sit.

I deal with the same kind of thing to. Boss seems to over hire for our busy season then after X-Mass it dies off and there we sit. It is starting to look up some but just a PIA for now. I'm an O/O and I have an older truck that's paid for and no family to support that makes it a lot easier to handle the slow times. I just like the fact I work 5 days a week with Friday and Saturday off and I only gone 1-2 nights a week. I work for NFI at Ottawa IL, for Kohl's Dept stores. Do you work for WM or an outside Carrier for them?

Been slower than normal here in Phoenix the last couple months, but it looks like it's starting to turn up now.

That seems to be the logic Walmart uses. Hire more drivers and bring in more dedicated when things slow up.

Is Amazon kicking our butts really this bad? Half of the fleet is still sitting at the dc from overnight waiting on loads.

Everything is fine,,,,we're going to heck, and the trucking industry is the 1st to feel it. Gonna get a lot worse, before it gets better.
