Ive been doing well at 6025.

Hired on last October, still an "extra" on a 5/2, Wed, 0900. I have no interest of the popular idea to "get on a program ASAP" for several reasons.

    You still slip seat.

Your start and end days rotate.

You have to share the truck with other drivers who moght be total jackwads, and ive heard stories of 2 guys complaining about a third guy they didnt like so much he dropped put of the program. Of course, Im sure theres more to that story...

Slip seating hasnt been that bad. In the last 6 weeks or so ive hopped mid week one time. Maybe twice. Lots of vacations right now, so Ive been getting trucks all week frequently. I take very little along with me for the week so it doesnt take me long at all. Even my sirius radio is portable.

So yeah, until i see the 5/2 I like, im staying on the extra board.

    Aint broke, dont fix it.

We just recently brought on 5 new guys i think, 2 in orientation this week, and rumors of 10 more. The new guys pictures are not up yet. I find that odd. It seemed like a priority when i came aboard.

Seems like a lot to me...hopefully we stay as busy up here as we have been.

2400-2800 on a 6/2 and no wait time in recent memory.

I see a lot of guys sitting that have the attitude "Screw an ETD, you know where I am at".

Yep sitting in the chair because the load you could have had just left on Landstar.

6/2? Sometimes I think they plan out too far with the optimizer. Don't take into account LU, breaks, traffic, and common Sense. Told rock night before I needed to be back @ home DC Saturday night. No problem, sent back to grocery DC, then after store, to a center point in wrong direction with load going back to DC. I even sent projected ETD night before, and day of with my 6 hours left. Had to call home DC and state not possible. They had to call rock.... Load removed, 270 mile empty move back home. Sometimes things are over complicated

Program drivers do not slip seat during the week. They have assigned trucks they drive 1 truck 1 week. Then the other truck the next week. Most program drivers also have set departure days.

Semantics. You still share trucks it is just the same set of two or three depending on program.

6 on 2 off three drivers in four trucks. I like it because every seventh pay period I can get 12 days in instead of 10. Helps the old ADP a little.
