At my dc 1500 miles is about the most you will get after they took away our 30 store from Las Vegas, one of my buddies showed me ; his daily totals for the week; & one day was 80 dollars for over 13 hours of work; plus he's gotta wife & 3 kids
The guys I know from orientation ,which 3 of which were born in raise in the la. ,Area say , I was making more at my old otr. Job & for less hours
Or I never get out of the la area
do the math; if we get 1500 miles plus our 40 layover & arrival & depart s
Does that come out to 84000 -

I'm sorry that hear that and know that region is tough. Things have picked up since May and I'm able to make 1500-1700 in 5 days every week.
-
I talked a driver with one of our dedicated carriers that runs remix. He said he just started driving a truck last month. He works 3 weeks on and gets a week off.
-
I appreciate it, I talk to all the guys from orientation & all of our pay is comparable , take home is 1200 to about 1800 for 2 weeks,
I thought it was just me until i talked to all the other guys & were all in the same range
The senior guys do a bit better since they have set runs , or can get out of the area
& of course they deserve it , they earned it
But now that may be taken away
I was at poly trucking before coming here
There very good, but it's very hard to get hired , private company -
Happy to see your making some money

If you have your year in think about transferring up to Oregon, Washington or Utah. 2,000 miles is a slow week.
-
That's one option, I don't see anything getting better at a.v.
Just don't like that they our Las Vegas stores to buckeye, the drivers from buckeye did pretty good without getting are stores
Now our longest load is 160 miles to San Diego & all the senior guys will get those first -
Here is the answer to why it's slow and over hired. Supposedly

Yes. But its not just amazon. Its Wal-Mart themselves with their online store. Why go stand in line for a hour when you shop it to my door for free? I'm not even talking by the case orders. You guys will ship me a single can of green beans if i want. All those online orders directly impact how busy the dcs are because that product never sets foot in a Wal-Mart trailer. Its shipped directly from the manufacturer to my door. In today's world the only thing you need to go to a store for is fresh and frozen goods. and in my case not even that. Publix delivers groceries.Last edited: Aug 9, 2017

Actually a lot of that product does hit the DC's, loaded onto our trailers and delivered to a store where FedEx Ground will pick it up in the morning and deliver it that day. Some stores even have a FedEx trailer dropped every day that's loaded over night and brought to their service center.
