The crazy part is when you do move over, and then the 4 wheelers pass you on the right!!

You may need to stop entirely.
If the tow truck operator is working on the left side he may be into the traffic lane.

Ok, this is sad, BUT,,,recovery is THE most dangerous job out there today, because you are dealing 1st hand with these morons. Can't let your guard down for a second, and this poor guy( and family) paid the price for that "momentary lapse of reason".

It doesn't seem to be just a lapse of reason.
    People just don't care.

Not too long ago I was that truck on the side of the road.
Sometimes the traffic was heavy and some could not move over, but they barely slowed down either.
And there were some that, even though they had a clear left lane, stayed in the right lane at full speed.

I meant the lapse of reason on the part of the tow truck driver. It would be like a soldier turning their back on an enemy. Traffic isn't going to change, YOU have to look out for them. I don't think it's that people don't care, they are just preoccupied doing something else besides driving, and until that changes, stuff like this will continue to happen, sadly.

Either that or they are simply too brain dead to realize a dangerous situation is fast developing. Had this happen more than once.

My brother failed to slow down or move over once. He passed a state trooper. The trooper just happened to finish writing the ticket. Ran my brother down. He actually tries to argue his innocence in court. I told his ### he wasn't going to win this case. It happened near Chattanooga I believe. The judge had him pay a massive fine and sent him to driving school. That's a law you dont want to play around with

and that will never happen. i always see a "step" process for fines to increase.

then too, like the old saying, "there's never a cop around, when you need one"..

so what i say is, put up MORE cameras and send the fines to the house.

If I’m in the right lane and can’t get over, I put my left steer tire right on the zipper. The only time I don’t is if a truck is trying to pass me on the left. A four wheeler will make room for me in that situation either by backing down or moving to the left
