Sure the receiver was being a jack###, but he probably got the holiday assignment from his boss and had to explain to his friends and family why he wasn't going to make the parade, his son's ballgame, the steak fry, whatever. Not to go all Sigmund Freud on you, but your agitation fed into his need to be the boss.

It doesn't take long to figure out that you're at the bottom of the food chain when you show up at a receiver. Remember the book No Time For Sergeants? Imagine the shipper/receiver dock is a lake. The customers always grab up all of the big canoes so the truckers are left with the little canoes. As a trucker dude, the last thing you want to do is to make waves. (i.e. You cannot win a war with a customer.)

Sometimes it's helpful to think as you're driving off; for him, this is as good as it gets and there's a reason why you don't want HIS job.

Joke him if he can't take an F###!

I've used paper logs and e-logs and can honestly say that I prefer e-logs. I make good money, work my as* off, run LEGAL and mind my own business. Besides, I don't recall anyone asking you for your opinion, super trucker.

I probably do more in 5 days with elogs than you do all week with your falsified comic book. When you finally have to be on elogs we are gonna be runnin circles around you LMFAO! And we will have no sympathy for you either. Best of luck BillyBigRigger....

LOL... there's no point in kidding yourselves, e-logs are going to be required in every truck at some point. People will fight, throw fits, etc, but in the end it's going to happen, because it's the only way to stop HOS violations. Paper logs were a joke as soon as the computer age began. And frankly, I'm tired of the idiots who falsify paper logs, because they are the reason why they keep reducing our legal driving time at 30 minutes a pop.

Never fails: when you are in a hurry, no one else is...

Friday's tend to be the worst for me, for whatever reason... ;)

The offer to buy a drink, lunch, dinner or just cold hard cash goes a long way. Especially if it's a place that you may frequent. Persona, MN Viracon glass sticks out in my mind. I can't tell you how many times I've unloaded there 2 to 3 days ahead of my appointment time.
