No large ones. Insurance requires you to have a certificate from a school.

And you are accepting what the recruiter is telling you at USA, after saying the story changed each week at stevens?

Regional, 35 cents per mile, for a rookie? Now that is a pipe dream.

I just worked for USA a year. If you have a wife and kids, I would stay away from USA. Get you some reefer experience. I only made 29600 last year. All with USA Truck.

I've realized this long ago, but I'm just trying to make it as comfortable as possible, you know? Like voting for President. You pick the lesser of two evils.

Eppes, they start new drivers at $.35 CPM.

As for the OP, you didnt go to a truck driving school. You went to a company that does CDL training for those that they employ.

You might want to re-read your contract. If you completed training, you most likely owe them the full cost of their tuition. Dont be surprised if they chase you down for it and end up suing you and garnishing your wages to do so......and in all honesty I hope they do. You entered into an agreement and you need to live up to your end of the deal.

You will never get a diploma from them.....period.

You've got two choices. Man up, live up to your contract and go back and work for Stevens like you promised them you would.

Two, bite the bullet and actually pay for your training like everyone else does. Then you get a diploma and can go to work for companies that pay twice as much as USA Truck and Stevens do anyways.

Eppes does not hire rookies, they must have some experience.
You bring up good points. He did go to a company training program. But show me a company that starts a rookie at $0.52 per mile as you claim. Or by the end of the first year 60 cents per mile.

Prime will start you pretty close to .35cpm, and then if you get a lightweight truck you get and additional .05cpm. You could be making nearly or at .40cpm starting pay as a newbie...:biggrin_2551:

One of the areas rookies get screwed is where companies offer, say .40 per mile...but then you only get 1200 miles per week.
No matter where you start, you have to take your lumps until you prove yourself.
Some companies do that faster than others.

    American-Trucker Thanks this.

You must pay your school tution in full then if your lucky they will send you, your certificate.Without your certificate you have to re-do schooling all over again.
