Smart trucks, a review of my experience driving one.

Agreed. I can see the value if you've got a new driver who doesn't quite have the reflexes and judgement just yet. But an experienced driver is going to find themselves trying to fight with the software. It's a fight you can't win so you have to learn to compensate for it.

...or if you're like me, yank out the whole computer and screw up your light bar in the same process. I yanked the box out when to turn on the light bar and nothing happened. Figured out I had also yanked out some stuff going to it on accident in my frustration.

 

Peterbilt was running around BC this summer showing off their demo truck. Idiot in it was bragging about the technology and how much it would help.
Well i agreed to use it for a short trip, and try it out.
This was a short 7 hour round trip, and a very easy one at that.
I didn't know that i could actually despise a truck, until that day. It beeped and chirped nonstop, couldn't tell the difference between a car in front or beside me, and a tree or rock bluff. Best thing that could happen to that truck is setting it on fire and cook myself a hotdog over it as it burned.
