Yes, I think they were at one time anyway. Back in the day the family also owned JMar out of Atmore, Al. before they sold out to Western Express. From what I remember they were all run independently and owned by different members of the same family.

Ive worked for both USX and JMar. Could be wrong but I do remember hearing that. :biggrin_2556:

Actually the old man owned all three, so the story went. They were all given to 3 different family members to run when the old man had enough. From what us drivers were told at the time of the sale is the person responsible for running the company at the time was neglecting the company and spent too much time partying so the old man sold it to Western Express.

Thats the story we all heard when JMar was being sold anyway.

I enjoyed my time at JMar, Western Express sucked, that's why I wound up going to USX in 2004.

The miles at Smith were good until US Xpress got in the mix.

Am I the only one that got lost in this who owns who thread? :biggrin_2556:
    Sounded like this to me.
If I have two apples and you have 3 dimes, how many pancakes fit on a roof?

It's a truckers favorite way to gossip. If X company parks to close to Z company at a truck stop, someone will start a "bought out" gossip train.

That's funny, try reading the title. Question was asked why Covenant and Smith are pulling each others trailers.

It was answered and some on here disputed the answer, maybe they actually don't know it all?
