Hello, I am looking at working for this company out of PA. I tried searching the forum for recent information. I can't seem to find any. I'm wondering what the walmart dedicated account (21 out - 7 home) vs 12 out - 2 home. What is the pay like? The miles? The equipment. Reviews are all over the place. I have a year and a half of experience.

Ask the company to have a couple of drivers currently working on that account contact you. Not all info is online.

Was once a great family outfit…..now owned by Heartland Express
Contract companies working on Walmart contracts are working for Walmart basically not the company they actually work for…so you’ll live and die by what Walmart needs and for a #^^+ton less than an actual Walmart driver

Get on direct with Walmart and you'll make $25,000 or more a year than the contract carrier driver doing the same job with weekly hometime (a 60 hour weekend not that 34 reset BS), much better PTO and lots of perks. They're moving away from contract carriers doing grocery store deliveries as much as possible anyways and have been for 20+ years.

Smith used to be a good local place to work. Now, they're just a another mega in sheep's clothing. I'd look elsewhere if I were you.

I stopped by a nice place for a long lunch in Ellicottville, NY the other day, where US219 runs right through the village. I must've seen 7 or 8 Smith trucks, most of them pulling Wal-Mart trailers. All the trucks looked good, and it's pretty obvious they were all headed to the Bradford PA WM distribution center. Still, 219 is a long 2-lane road that goes through a whole bunch of small towns, so your mileage rate should reflect that.
