I've been able to find plenty of NO TARP load that pay better than ones needing tarped. I was just curious about smoke tarps and what not. I was going to run a load to Yuma last week and the only thing I could find out of there over $2 a mile was loads needing smoke tarps. That's why I asked

I have a smoke tarp and hardly use it but I guarantee if I took it off the truck I would need it all the time.

Anyone ever have to Double-Tarp a load before?

I hauled windings for pumps.....All copper obviously, from Brownsville, TX to Taft, CA....

The MWD required that load to be Double-Tarped.....What a pain.....

That load would pay better if you took it to the scrap yard ;)

You have 48' of trailer to put the tarps on,they can't be that heavy to move around. You need a couple 16X16's to cover small pieces. I did LTL work for years and used the smaller tarps more than the 26's. I also had 3-8X10's that came in handy very often. If you are worried about losing your big tarps, put a short 4x4 on top of them and chain them down, use a snap binder, wrap the excess chain around the binder handle and pad lock it. Keeps the honest thieves honest. The guys with the bolt cutters you can't stop.

    yes...

    Coils.

Each had to be tarped and then the load had to be stake and bowed as well.

    It was the ultimate PITA.

dispatcher thought I was being a smart ### when I asked if they wanted it smoked too.
