Oooh yuck, SPD is owned by the same company that owns Boyd Bros? What's SPD been like since Daseke came along? Hope things didn't go downhill.

Not as bad as You'd think, additional terminals (N. Charleston,Toledo), A boatload of new tractors & trailers, somewhat better pay scale, and a new terminal in Arlington is being built.
That being said, have considerably more "micro-management of personnel & drivers"
It's no longer the "Gypo balls-to-the-wall Got 'er did" company...

Where's the new yard being built? I drive by the old one quite often and have noticed the changes over the years from the old used Petes to a yard crammed with brand new top of the line variety of model trucks.

It looks like I'm headed over there... I just had a terrible experience; I was driving for a famous furniture chain, who also haul meat, and have their own NASCAR race team!!! This was the best employed I have ever had!!! The bad part occurred when the boss sold the whole temperature controlled division to Celadon... So, I am no longer employed by the same person who employs Martin Truex Jr... Prior to FRE, I was almost exclusively flat/step... I guess I want to know what to expect, what I am getting into, as far as what to expect from SPD... I am familiar with SPD's customer base... If they have Elogs, that they won't help themselves and change my logs!!! That the equipment is properly maintained, safe, and reliable... That they know where their equipment is... That they know how their customers operate... That jake brakes work in all the forward gears... That there are no unsafe settings programmed into the truck's ECM... That SPD does what they say, or promise they will do... Is there anything done that is scary or improper involving the drivers... Thanks...
