Grew up without cable tv just the rabbit ear antenna that picked up very few channels. One channel played 70s and 80s movies on the weekends after noon. Not only was Smokey and the Bandit a big influence but High Ballin', Convoy, Big Trouble in Little China, also added to it. There was a early Chuck Norris movie where he was a trucker but I don't remember the name. Plus there was a sweet Superliner in a female trucker movie I think it's called Flatbed Annie and Sweetie Pie.

My dad driving a truck was already a good influence on wanting to drive a truck. The movies just added to it.

Wow. Dissing on the Little Beaver because she is (much) older?

    Look in the mirror.

Even in my younger years I realized an older 'little beaver' was better then no 'little beaver'

I always figured Buford was his daddy. Cuz Forrest wasn't much brighter than Junior. But at least Forrest had a little bit of common sense.

I'm almost 100% sure I'd rather watch Paint dry then smoky in the bandit.

Never heard of that one. I was too busy watching Lone Wolf McQuade about 100 times. Remember the sweet truck he drove with a big blower on it?

Not sure why you would watch paint dry, either before or after watching Smokey and the Bandit.
But you're right. Watching Smokey and the Bandit after watching paint dry would be better, as it would be a step up.

Your Man Card has been revoked.
    Please watch in order,
    1) Duel
    2) Convoy
    3) Smokey and the Bandit

After you have watched them we will review the status of said Man Card.
