Why are people paid to do a job they clearly do not like and why should drivers be treated like this for trying to stay proactive? This is an insane world of lazy so called workers we deal with... truly insane... Trump would fire her ### for this nonsense... "you're fired!" Crete is really dropping the ball on undesirable new hires, lack of miles, dangerous recaps on steers, disrespectful workers that don't want to work, things are going downhill fast!

Look at it from their perspective - they have a list of loads that can be assigned. Going trailer by trailer and explaining to you why you can't take that load is preventing them from completing other tasks.

Drivers get cranky when dispatch tries to tell them how to run a load, dispatch gets cranky when drivers tell them how to plan freight. Sometimes you just have to be patient and let others do their jobs.

It's probably more they're not being paid enough to deal with stuff thats not their job. I get wanting to stay productive, but think if every driver sitting there waiting for a load pulled that. They assign loads based on when empty. I'll admit, night/weekend crew is next to worthless and leaves a lot to be desired. People want to work, they just don't want to do it for slave wages and being treated like garbage. Knowing how drivers are I can't really blame dispatch for being short sometimes.

I left it in the capable hands of the remaining Shaffer drivers so that other drivers interested in Shaffer can get the latest scoop on what's going on there.

I had a dispatcher send me a similar message once. I told her that if the planner is going to be the one sending my loads to me I have no need for her and I will only deal with my planner. Of course I then got a call from the office......

That's what you get when you offer low Midwest wages to large metro expensive living expenses job markets
