Its been nearly 30 years since i took the cdl exam but if i remenrer right they are not allowed on the steer axle on buses.kemosabi49 and Troy_ Thank this.
-
That's right.
-
yep, only on passenger buses are they not allowed. people seem to confuse "regrooved" with "recapped".Bean Jr. and spyder7723 Thank this.
-
Well I would not want regrooved or caps on a steer. I have only blown one steer and it was on a 74 K100 with no power steering, I have been fairly particular on steer tires since then. lol
It has probably changed, but the truck that held the speed record on the flats, ran bandag caps all the way around, the rears were even sectioned. Iirc it was in the neighborhood of 250 mph too. -
Tyrone Malone's?
-
Airplanes do too.
Still, I would never run recaps on the front, although I'd love to go to a tire place and educate them by ordering them. -
I would agree. How many have whacked themselves in the face/chin unwinding a ratchet binder?Troy_ Thanks this.

worst I've got from ratchet binders was tennis elbow.
