snow chains

It varies REDD...Full chains in California is one drive axle full three railers and the other one with singles and two drags (two railers) on the trailer. I've rarely seen them require all of that but I carry enough for full chains (just in case.)

I'm in Nevada right now and had to cain up twice today to get where I am and I'll have to chain up in the morning in order to get to my delivery....

hmmm, i woke up one morning to find that ALL of my chains were missing. is your "friend" stealing them from other drivers?

 

I have my chains locked in my truck, and that is how they will remain. I don't know how to throw em, and I don't want to learn. They are only there so I can go through chain law states

 

One day you'll have to throw them......
Practice on a clear day.....you'll be glad you did.....

 

WCP I just have to make it through this winter. Cause come this next fall semester I will be sitting in a classroom. To be honest I think I have 7 sets of singles, and 1 set of doubles.

 

Started straight truck in 1975, tractor-trailer in early 1976. Used to run north all the time. I have never put on a set of chains.

 

Pewags are the best chains to run. If your not familiar the links are kinda flat you can run faster and they don't break as easily.

 

No there are not hot guys . He has enough chain bags to fill the back of a pickup truck box !! He is a driver , he and his wife piggy back bobtails all over the country . We live in a small town and a local trucking company went out of business and left the chains and other equipment to Jerry .
Jerry bought the chains cheap and is willing to sell them at a great price .

I "LEARNED" sitting in a blizzard on US 50 on Monarch Pass in Colorado. NOT the "preferred" way to learn how to do it! Of course I have thrown chains on 4 wheelers probably hundreds of times, but that first time on a big truck is STILL a first time.

I think that is great, and I hope you do well in getting more education. That being said, you STILL have this winter to get through.

I've never been a fan of chaining up to LEAVE a parking spot. I'd rather wait a bit for the roads to clear. But the way this winter is shaping up, it looks like everyone who runs any snow country had best learn how to deal with chains.
