Back in the day there were several models of truck that the windshield wipers came down from the top instead of the bottom of the windshield, that seemed to be better for blowing snow. If it's a dry snow turn the defroster off, the wind will keep the snow blowing off the window. Ice builds up around the wiper arms because your defroster half melts it and then they become worthless after awhile and you have to get out and snap them. Get good winter style wipers and a good deicer for the washer fluid bottle. Most of what the truck stop sells is -20, the addition of a bit of alcohol will increase that a bit. As long as you are moving forward you have what is called "rolling traction" that's what you want to maintain. Pick a speed that lets you maintain that traction, gives you plenty of time to react to things and you can still see through the window. No sudden throttle or quick brakes and expect the steer to float some so allow for that on the curves, no sudden lane changes do it gradual. For downhill find the speed that keeps your rolling traction and still lets you soft brake effectively...

    ...Just sayin'
