Ah, gotta love good ole' Wyoming. I-80 shut down from Cheyenne to Sinclair. Been stuck here since 1700 yesterday. I-25 N is shut down too. Not looking real good for the next couple of days either.

Yeah, I should of just stayed at Johnson's Corner yesterday. Received a text alert from Wyoming travel center saying 80 was open. Took off and literally 15 minutes later received another text saying 80 was closed again.

Fortunately, many of the guy's that had been stuck in Cheyenne must of taken off too, because there were like 2 spots open at the Love's and I was able to back into one. Now there are guys parked all along the highway, frontage roads and stacked 2 & 3 deep in the truckstops.

Message just posted by Wyoming travel:

    "
Forecast: Extremely high blowover risk for much of WY over next 48 hours. Gusts up to 80 mph expected."

Looks like we're stuck until at least Friday morning.

They estimate over 2k trucks shut down here in Cheyenne area due to wind and 80 closure.

No snowy roads out here in the east. Been in the south, midwest and now the east for the past several days. The weather has been unreal sunny & warm! Only problem is that the student on my truck is getting a false perception of weather on the road this time of year ;-)

Gonna spend the day at the travel plaza on the Ohio Turnpike, doing a 34, wash clothes and bedding, free showers, free wifi connection at Panera's then some March Madness after noon. If you're ever out this way, make sure you stop and stay at one of the many Ohio Turnpike Plazas, they are really nice!

Dodge the bullet yesterday....Donner was a cluster....So I headed down 395...Which was closed to big trucks from the Bug Station south....Found another two-laner route to bypass the wind...NV 208 to 829 to 338 to 182 which dumps you out N/O of Bridgeport...Still windy at Bridgeport...The reservoir had whitecaps and 2' swells...Almost like being out in the Catalina Channel.....Had snow at Crestview just before the rest area....

Caltrans had their plows from Mono lake south..Sitting per usual ...Collecting OT.....:biggrin_25515:
