Yeah, I'm definitely cut out for refrigerated trucking. For me, a nightmare is having a set schedule.

Im not a 6-week trainer. I train paperwork and how to load. Yeah when the guys reach me they still cant drive very well, and they need a lot of help.

But they are upgraded drivers, same as me. We are team trucks, not solo. My guess is he was still adapting to sleeping in a moving truck.

It took me about 3 months to to learn how. While I was learning, no one snitched on me and now I'm doing it no problem.

Whether or not his story ended up being like mine, I dont know. I dont like snitching over stuff like that, because for all I know that was just a 1 off night. Maybe I was wrong not to say something, I dont know.

Here's a question: Your load was ready at 6:00 pm, your destination was 3 1/2 hours away, and you're posting at 12:45 am that you're parked 1/2 way to your destination because you're too tired. You made 1 3/4 hours progress towards your destination.

What'd ya do, get caught up fiddling with your phone for a few hours instead of sleeping or putting the pedal to the metal, and now you want to make it the shippers fault??

I'm probably way off base. Please explain it to me like I'm just a dumb truck driver.....

OP I have read all of your posts. You have a lot of learning to do, fast. What was your trainer doing while training you? I only ask because he wasn't training you. Not knowing how to find low bridge info. Not knowing load planning. Your trainer was crap. Now you have to train yourself and fast. We will help, but learn it the first time.
I'm not trying to be harsh. I'm just wanting you to understand your situation. You had bad training, and it's time to grow up.

Driving between midnight and 4AM is a nightmare for me.
I can do it , and have but I let dispatch know that that is not my bag.
I will do it as a favor if there is no other way and a load needs to be saved but if it happens too many times in a row I start looking for the door.
Lucky for me I am a good asset otherwise or else most companies would not put up with a driver with limitations like mine. I could could probably drive 24 hrs straight in a place like alaska in the summer time though. I am a solar powered driver!

I am just the opposite. I prefer to start driving between 0001 and 0200. I much prefer to start driving in the dark and finish in the daylight. Daylight to dark is what makes me drowsy/tired. Plus.....parking/showering/eating is a cakewalk between 1200 and 1600.

Long and short of it is this.. If you agreed to do run knowing pick up and delivery times the service failure is on you. Trip planning is important in this industry to insure you get proper sleep.
