I actually may start here in a couple weeks in Richmond va. Please note I put my application in less then 15 hours ago, and I just did it to see what they would do... so how's the housing there and how so I get there melissa said the company pays for it. Also are we talking 10speeds, or autos?

Umm, there are OTHER options. Read through this forum before you commit to Central/Swift. You might decide to expand your search for a company to work with. Not saying Central/Swift is good or bad, but don't jump into something without researching it. Just my opinion.

That's a good question. For almost a year now, Swift has made a concerted effort to bring Central into the Swift brand. But in the last 2 or 3 weeks, there have been tons of radio commercials on XM recruiting for Central Refrigerated and they're still placing new "Central" trailers in service. Who knows?

They run the 2 companies separate , but basically it's all Swirt, kinda like a step child..... you'll ride a bus, or get reimbursed the cost of the ticket if you fly, rent a car or mule... stay in motel 6 type place and prolly doubled up on room with other soon to be exploited driver.

The is the part you should pay attention to: if you are a new or nearly new driver, look at several companies ! really look at your choices, Central is a large company... look at a mid or small too. Some people do very well at big companies and others feel better in a smaller company.

Swift well Jerry Moyes the founder, started Central from Dick Simon trucking he owned a big chunk of it when Dick retired and the other stockholders got bought out by Jerry so he could have control. So he changed the name and ran it for some time then sold out or some of it. Now Swift operates Central

I see a LOT more Swift trucks pulling Central trailers than Central trucks.

Have you looked at Abilene and checked out that thread in the good company section?
Magnum Companies is another with little negative.
I only commented here because from what I've read from Central drivers most aren't happy but I'm sure some are.
