I have to agree there will be the guys that are just generally unhappy with them selves and they might give him some hassle but they would just find a reason to any how but if you hop on the radio or just ask for help there will most likely be some one willing to help because they have been in the same shoes at some point in there trucking experience

In my years of driving,I've found drivers to be very helpful, you might find a bad one here or there, but for the most part, you're husband will be fine.Like the other posters stated, just ask.

Not that it matters a whole lot but I do find some comfort in this admission.

Alot of the bashing that goes on in here with regards to new drivers is because of the fact they come into the industry with an attitude, ie: your way is old and out of date, I just graduated from CDL school and know it all, I shouldnt have to start at the bottom because I am better than that, etc..... I don't think it is trucking specific just the way society now days. Everyone expects to start at the top instead of working your way up. You will always read negative stuff but I'm sure for the most part the positive will outweigh those. And if you look, you will see it's not just new drivers that get bashed, it gets spread around.

Don't forget that you might just run across a driver that's having one of those days.:biggrin_2559:
These days I restrict my advice/help unless directly asked. Too dang many newbies out there with an attitude.

How long since I've been a "newbie"? You see them mountains? Wal you know somebody hadda haul the dirt for em. Why's they all different? Eve's sister-in-law wuz the contractor in charge and y'all know how wimmins are when they's decorating.:biggrin_25522::biggrin_25525:

i didnt read all the posts, but the thing that gets most of the older drivers mad, is when the newer drivers think they know it all, which is , i am sure, not the case with your husband. older drivers will help ppl out in a heartbeat and give advice (well most will) but if a newer driver thinks he knows it all., thats where it all goes south in a hurry!

Course..there is also the flip side of that..

He may ask for help and get 20 different responses on it, each one giving their opinions on why the others are wrong...

In those cases..he just does a quiet fade and tins tings through on his own..LOL

Most people have an opinion about everything..truck drivers have 3 or four opinions on everything and and the arguments to back up each one of their opinions..LOL..Just look at the shifting threads..the Jake brake threads....engine threads..and don't ever ask if a freightshaker is better or worse than a Peterbilt...thats like the chevy vs ford debate thats been raging since he early 1900s
