It's Xmas and your company won't allow you to deadhead 120m? I'd start looking for a new company...Mine would deadhead me 900m to get me home or if truck brokedown, they'd have me a rental...

Will they let you leave trailer at receiver and go home?...Maybe you need to rent a car, again, if so, I'd be looking for a new company...

I can assure you I would not miss Christmas at home over a 120 miles...that's for sure. If there is a safe place you can park your truck close to the receiver, I would leave it and have someone come get me, otherwise, I would take load and all and head for home. This is missed delivery on the part of the receiver and I would demand a redelivery charge from the broker.

That's what I'd do too. Park the truck somewhere within a few miles of the receiver and have someone come get me. Much cheaper to run a four wheeler 240 miles than it is a truck. Then hold the broker's feet to the fire on Monday.

And if his truck, trailer and load are gone, gone, gone when he gets back... then what? Ho, ho, ho. Oh, merry Xmas!

We dead headed two trucks over 300 miles this morning to get the guys home for Christmas. They would have had to wait where they were until Friday for what were crappy paying back hauls anyway.
Christmas means being home...no matter what it takes.

slim shady and pattyj Thank this.
