No, not linehaul, but similar deal. I pull tankers. Twelve to 14 hours a night, then home. I suppose if home gets too boring, I could haul frac sand, we have two open trucks, but for the money, it ain't worth the hassle.

Truth is, I love what I do, and make good money. But, being home for extended periods are a killer anymore with a house full of females...

Yeah, I've been thinking about it for some time, but, it would have to be a really sweet deal to give up what I have right now. I'm second in seniority, and the guy ahead of me is retiring next fall. I'm now at the point I can pick and choose my runs, so if I left, I'd be essentially starting over.

If that's the case the don't leave because going somewhere else is loosing your seniority nd start at the bottom again.

i used to love nite linehaul !
minimal time that i had to listen to that witch i was married to run her big blowhole .
minimal contact with step daughter who thought she was brittany spears .
got to come home at 6am and wave bye bye to the witches as i popped a beer knowing i wouldnt have to hear their drama till at least 5pm.
busy body neighbors all at work .
hit the ole fart sack about 11am without the battleaxe fartin and complaining .

5,7,9,10,11 100% agree. You can keep that other ##### lol

#9 is spot on. Neighbor has a 1976 Corvette with a 305. Possibly the worst corvette ever made. older man in his late 60's thinks highly of it.
Have a 2004 z chevette and he always tells me technology and EFI is junk. "okay bob, whats wrong with your car now?"
"bob, Want to go get something to eat and show off the cars a bit?" No shaggy, can't until my floor mats come in. Wtf LMAO !

My neighbor, who is supposedly disabled, is a Monte Carlo freak. When they moved in, (they hail from Sayreville, Nj), they promptly moved in their fleet. There were five Monte Carlo's, two actually ran. One was a newer one (I'm guessing early 2000's) and the rest were from the mid 80's. One was a 'show car' (although it never went to any shows).

Since then (2011) they've gotten rid of most of them, only to replacr them with others. And for someone who's 'disabled', he sure doesn't have trouble changing engines and transmissions on said cars. Actually, he brought one home that was wrecked, and replaced the whole front clip. That was a long, long week.

Its winter now, so he doesn't appear outside for weeks at a time. His wife does anything that requires going out. So its quiet for now. Kinda like a groundhog. But mother in law has invaded my space for now, so its a vicious cycle

Never understood the monte carlo folks, Including the early 2000's fwd cars. Die hard G-body and anything monte carlo set in their ways . ( was a regal t-type owner ) and monte carlo never offered anything fast or good looking. Correct about being disabled ( owner brains and car ) lol

In the end, Nice to have decent neighbors, much worse can and will happen :biggrin_2559:

The only time my neighbors dog barks is at night for hours straight. Sucked when I worked foodservice and had to be up by 2am. Doesn't bark during the day, nice and quiet 85% of the time for me doing linehaul besides the UPS guy delivering packages ringing the door bell. I'm immune to it now fall right back asleep.

Also neighbors know I own loud stuff. Harley with Drag pipes at 2am-3am wouldn't be nice. My bike deafens my right ear after riding. Don't F with the bike and Car guy we remember when your dog is being retarded for no reason. Cops in my area also got better things to do then deal with a noise ordinance issue. Their chasing people shooting people.
