He wants you to get out of the truck, stretch, get the blood flow. ... prevent blood clots and other crap you get from sitting for hours onend. I think you should get out during your break. At least for half of it
So how is the 30min breaking working out?

I happen to get more refreshment from two 15 minute breaks spaced about 3 or 4 hours apart. So now I will consolidate those in my log book so I look like a good boy. It's a pain. More than that it is demeaning to be told you don't have the good sense to know when you need a break, so we will tell you.

One of the dumbest rules ever so in order to keep a driver awake your gonna make them stay awake 30 min longer and not get paid for it wtf do we all work in a office like the goverment idiots almost as dumb as the new reset rule notihing like the goverment killing the trucking industy
-
They are not "killing the trucking industry", they are doing what government does best, trying to justify their salaries and their tax dollars consumed, so make more laws to wave around to the motoring public to say "see, we have just made the roads safer, so thank us, and keep sending us more money and we'll keep on thinking of new ways to seem relevant and keep capitalism "in check".
This latest HOS law may pale in comparison to what's coming next so make the best of the way things are now because they could (will) be worse. -
I don't really see the problem here. It's good to sit down on the pot once a day. Do it during your 30 min break, wipe and get back on the road.

It's nanny state being nanny state. And truckers, from what I've seen, refuse to defend their rights... so they lose them. Now you're treated like children and where are the unions? Oh right, paid off to shut up like most unions. It's about control and flooding the industry with immigrants... like most industries. This isn't a trucker problem, this is an American problem.Rocks Thanks this.

And Government needs to dictate to grown men when they need to stretch their legs? I'm just saying, the 30 minute break is probably a common sense thing anyway, but it doesn't need to be dictated.
-
Very well said... seems folks in this country are losing the desire to think for themselves and take control of their lives... it's "easier" to let the government do all that for them... I come from another country, I am a legal immigrant, naturalized American citizen and it's very disappointing to say the least to see American people's reactions to their government's actions...

From an OTR standpoint maybe, shouldn't apply to local drivers.
I sure don't need it, I'm in and out of the truck numerous times every day and I climb ladders when I'm loading so I get plenty of leg stretching. -
I agree.
Do you vote republican?
