It is debatable whether per diem is bad or not.

Estes. Might not be your cup of tea though. We don't drag hoses or throw straps or chains. Can't remember the last time I've bumped a dock or opened a trailer door. You won't need a twic card here. Whatever that is or means.

Just a hair over 4k started here around thanksgiving and get home every weekend and holiday. Should come out closer to 55-60 annual when we get away from these short holiday weeks

I made over $40,000 in the 8 months with GTI, that's just in mile pay, no extras, and about $15,000 all together with Lessors before I quit. I'll be shy of $60,000 this year, I believe.

Exactly - would prefer to avoid the NE if possible. So as with every message board there are some nay-sayers and some optimists here. Just watch for me to post this time next year and we'll see what I really make. No one actually makes gross, duh! They always take out income tax, SS, retirement, insurance, and all the other goodies. On my previous job my take home was just a little over half of what the big pay contract said I was going to make. Like I said, I did my homework and couldn't find any better place to start brand new with no experience. I am happy with my decision and looking forward to an exciting first year of learning the ropes :biggrin_25519:

I'll be lucky to gross 50k this year but I switched companies mid year. Minus insurance, taxes, child support etc. I probably brought home 30-35k maybe....

    123456 and blairandgretchen Thank this.

I've been at my company for 9 months. I'm at 54K. That includes a 1K Christmas bonus. Home every night, weekends off. Work an occasional Saturday but not mandatory.

    blairandgretchen and 123456 Thank this.

Check into Superior Carriers. I have been there a year and a half now and no complaints. Pay package is good. And we have a terminal in Baltimore. I have gotten good runs out of there every time I have been there. I will gross 60k this year, first full year of trucking.

    123456 and blairandgretchen Thank this.

I'm at 63,472 gross right now with a week left in the year so that should bring be darn close to 65k(Canadian).

Summer months I run tri axle dump truck and winter months I'm the shop mechanic/welder.
