    I bought a 1995 Chevy 4X4 K3500 454 crew cab dually that needed a clutch.
Got it up on the lift, and got it apart, and ordered flywheel, HD clutch, and slave cyl.

Put it all back together - and the pressure plate won't squeeze the clutch disc??
So I find out that in 1995, they started using the 1996 model year parts in October.

RE- Ordered parts by VIN, so now It should work. (I get the parts in Thursday.)
Not happy with this, but I told parts counter guru a 1995, Which is what it is,
Sticker has 10-95 on door. (That's not a 95, it just looks like a 95.)

What I didn't know was there was a possible choice of two different sets of
completely different parts that were not the same. Thanks GM!

The model years roll over every September, so a vehicle built in October of 1995 would be part of the 1996 model year.

I hope everything works smoothly once you get the new parts put on.

i know it's my fault, but I still don't like doing it twice.
Haven't been that mad in a long time,
then I just stopped, took a deep breath,
    and laughed at myself.

I just hope they give me a refund on the parts.
Then I'm only out the time.

But time is more valuable when you're almost 70.
    Probably the last tranny I will ever put in;
might as well do it -twice- to remember it!

It will go a lot faster the 2nd time ,No rusted bolts giving you a fit . And you now know every tool to grab. Look on the bright side.

Well I sure hope you get the parts refunded. Wrap that stuff back in whatever shrink wrap you can find, if it was wrapped in any. I would play stupid. Hella stupid.

It happens. They often use up old parts. Chrysler was famous for it, especially on brakes. Never know when you’ll get a parts bin special. I had an 09 Pontiac G5 GT. Every parts store lists the wrong brake pads. Up through 08, they were larger. In 09, right before they folded, the GT was a nameplate only. Same engine, same brakes. as others. Sounds like you found a nice Truck. Not too bad having to rework everything while it’s still new and exciting. Nows the time. After while it’s just a chore.

Could be worse. My brother had a Mustang that was a 1985 and a half. Some parts were 85, some 86 and some were special and only was found on the "and a half" version. (Motor mounts were a bi.... to find the right ones)

Today I get the bell housing off, that's where I stopped last night,
    and remove the incorrect clutch.

1st picture is looking up at floor and inside rocker panel.
Still has the primer from GM paint shop with NO rust.
Cab floor is "not even a little red surface rust" clean primer.
Unreal; especially for a rust belt salt spewing state like Pa.

2nd picture is rockers and bottom of both crew cab doors.
One little 1" spot to be blasted, muriatic acid etched, and filled.

3rd picture is rear w/ new brakes, drums, air shocks and rear cover.

2 years ago I picked up an 04 sierra quadrasteer that was mint for the age. Came from south jersey almost zero rust. Gonna take the bed off this summer and paint it. It's worth saving, was a grocery getter it's whole life.

You can switch between 2 wheel and 4 wheel steer. In 4 wheel steer it has the turning radius of a small car Lol.

It was available with the 6.0 but it has the 5.3 wish it had the 6.0 Lol
