They might not help a one truck guy, but they help people running a bunch of trucks. The company I’m leased to has around 100 trucks, and they went to cameras last year. My friend has 40-50 trucks pulling tanks and he went to cameras a couple months ago at the urging of his insurance company. It’s about exposure. 40 trucks running 500 miles a day is a lot more exposure than one truck running 500 miles a day.

Not just camera's - but collision mitigation technology in general. Lawsuits against carriers and truck sellers for NOT having the technology, in their trucks have already been filed and settled.

Uhh... if you're the one buying the fuel, why would you consider giving them 30% of the fuel surcharge? That should always be passed 100% to the O/O.

It's their fuel card. Plus they pay 75% of the load. Last cheque was $8500 for one week only having to worry about my truck payment. It's a good situation imo.

That sounds scary. Do you have the links for the case law involved? How about a link to the court jurisdictions involved?

Most truck owners will be interested in this.

well, I don't know who the "main cheerleader" is, but facts is facts. And that's a so 'nuff statement.
Best I ever did was about $4,500 to the house.
    Typical was around $3k
