'Bedders typically keep "Banker's Hours"....
While you Reefer Tuggers and "Doorslammers" are working....'Bedders are sawing logs...Dreaming of how they're gonna spend their money.....

Isn't "Slamming Doors" the "Entry Level Position" in trucking anyway?
-
You're thinking of this:
It is not an exemption to the aggregate requirements. This makes no changes to the aggregate requirements. So in fact this is a step ABOVE the requirements. Essentially it's an exemption to the "10 foot" rule(minimum number of tiedowns). Since the direct method of securement doesn't have a mininum number of tiedowns above 4, it does not apply. This is only for indirect method. -
I pulled a reefer instate for a week or 2 when I was 19. It was stupid.SHC, passingthru69 and Working Class Patriot Thank this.

kona911,i'm not flaming you,we all have to learn.
But the way you secured it the first time ,leaving the legal issue aside, wasn't good.
If you use the 4 anchor methode to secure ,allways put 4 binders.
Only putting 2 binders each side is not a good way to operate.
If the chain is a little wrapped or hooked on something,it might loosen and then you don't lose 1 but 2 securements in 1 go.
Don't worry, learn from this and move on.(nobody is perfect)

(exemption) (special rule) one and the same, what ever! I always get documentation from shipper regardless-- all high and mighty. for cryin out loud!
-
I don't know what that would do, unless it was because they don't want you putting straps in certain places. What does the documentation say? I'm interested in knowing.
-
basicly a copy of that rule you quoted from the book with a signature spot for the shipper to sign. for the dot rookie cop that want's to do it by the book. or shall I say his interpretation of the all mighty dot book. it has came in handy more times than I can count.
-
"Interpretation" is always open and depends on what officer you get. Me personally, I would have just explained what was wrong, showed you how to fix it, and let ya go with a warning. That OOS has totally ruined your CSA score now for 3 years
Working Class Patriot Thanks this. -
bingo!! that's why I do what I do. documentation comes in handy when it's your day in court! with all this csa bs and such!
